4 Stunning Travel Movies You Can Stream Right Now To Ignite Your Wanderlust

Nothing sparks the urge to book a flight quite like a beautifully filmed, adventure-filled movie. I know we are all guilty of some impulse travel spending after a good film- I’ve definitely been there more times than I’d care to admit. Some of my all-time favorites are finally on the various streaming platforms now, so I had to share.

If you’re dreaming of hitting the open road, wandering through a charming European escape, or indulging in the mystery of a luxurious resort, these four movies will take you there—no passport required. And the best part? You can stream them all right now!

🌴 The White Lotus

While this is a series and not a movie, nothing screams wanderlust like an ultra-luxurious resort in paradise. The White Lotus takes you from Hawaii to Sicily with its stunning backdrops, satirical humor, and addictive drama. If you’ve ever fantasized about checking into a lavish five-star escape, this series will have you browsing hotels in no time. The series features the White Lotus hotel chain, which is a fantasy brand that is meant to mimic the Four Seasons (the hotel chain where the show is filmed). The third season is out now and is based in Thailand.

Stream it on HBO Max.

Want to feel like Aubrey Plaza in Sicily? Or Jeniffer Coolidge in Maui? Then definitely grab a stay at the Four Seasons!

🏨 The Grand Budapest Hotel

If you love quirky storytelling and dream of wandering through charming European cities, The Grand Budapest Hotel is a visual feast. Wes Anderson’s masterpiece blends pastel-colored scenery, impeccable cinematography, and a whimsical storyline set in a fictional, old-world hotel. It’s pure travel inspiration wrapped in cinematic perfection.

Stream it on Hulu.

The film is thought to be inspired by The Grandhotel Pupp. Check it out below.

🏔️The Sound of Music

If you’re in the mood for a classic that blends breathtaking scenery with an unforgettable story, The Sound of Music is a must-watch. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Austrian Alps, this timeless film follows Maria as she finds love, adventure, and a new sense of purpose with the von Trapp family. With its iconic soundtrack and sweeping landscapes, it’s the perfect movie to spark your wanderlust and make you dream of an alpine escape.

Stream it on Disney+.

If you’re a big fan of the movie, then I highly recommend you stay at The Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont. Add it to the bucket list! It is one of my family’s favorite hotels.

🎒 Into the Wild

A raw, soul-stirring story of adventure and self-discovery, Into the Wild follows Christopher McCandless as he leaves behind modern society to embrace the untamed beauty of the Alaskan wilderness. Stunning landscapes, a powerful message, and an unforgettable soundtrack make this a must-watch for free spirits and nature lovers alike. I find this movie to be life-changing. I can’t recommend it enough.

Stream it on Paramount+.

I’d recommend a hotel for this one, but I feel it kind of defeats the purpose! You’ll understand after watching!
